Good day from At Your Service for Seniors.
This communication is another in a series to keep you advised of our current operations amid this challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic. The safety and wellbeing of all our clients, families and Associates are of top priority to us. Accordingly, we have updated and instituted protocol to limit potential
exposure to coronavirus. Here are the highlights:
All Associates are asked to twice daily self monitor and if they note any symptoms they are asked to remain away from clients and complete the online self assessment. They may also contact their health professional and / or Public Health or Telehealth Ontario for further instructions. Now that more is understood about covid-19, droplet and contact infection control precautions have been reinforced with all Associates. The vital role of masks means the Associates are always to wear a medical/procedure mask. They will also request our clients to wear a mask, as tolerated, when receiving assistance from the Associates. As before, proper hand washing and avoidance of face touching are always stressed.
Associates are to contact clients (and or client’s family or power of attorney for
personal care) prior to visiting their homes and review a screening checklist. The checklist includes an expanded list of possible symptoms.
They are asked if they:
-exhibit symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat
-if they have had close contact with a confirmed or probable COVID-19 case
-if they travelled or had close contact with someone who travelled within the last 14 days and has become ill
Based on the answers, Associates are able to determine if they can enter the home or not and, if not, and will advise client to notify family doctor, Public Health or Telehealth Ontario for further instruction. If the person is quite ill, an ambulance may be called, confirming the presence of possible symptoms.
We remain committed to providing high quality care and service to our clients, within an environment safe for all. If you have any questions, please call one of the numbers below.
