- "Our parents benefitted greatly from At Your Service for Seniors. The ladies provided individualized meals, cleaning and support to them, allowing them to stay longer at home than they would otherwise be able to. For the family there was the assurance that our parents were receiving healthy meals and had someone in to check on them on a regular basis allowing them to continue to be at least somewhat independent. The ladies were “angels sent from heaven” in that they made an effort to get to know our parents, their limitations, needs, strengths and food preferences so that they could care for them more fully in a compassionate and professional manner. At Your Service for Seniors had frequent meetings about their clients, discussing the best ways to meet the identified needs and would then validate their suggestion with our parents and the family to see if they were helpful. "When my husband was admitted to Memory Lane at McCormick Home I needed transportation. Meals on Wheels was not able to provide me with this but told me about "At your Service for Seniors". They were not too sure what they did at that time.
This was a happy blend as I went to university with Joan's Mother. She was the inspiration for forming this service.
My trips are more than transportation. The caring friendship I with my driver, Heather has been a way of assessing things with myself and my husband as we both face changes. My family all out of town,is feeling relieved there is someone in London who they can contact about us. And they are encouraging me to think of using the Service beyond maybe just the transportation but support for my life style if anything happens to my husband.
One of the big things is that it is adaptable to ones needs as they change. I do recommend using this service." Amy Homewood

(from an Associate) "I have had some wonderful experiences with my (our ) past & present clients. After taking one of my " Ladies" for a massage which invigourated her, we headed off to Kingsmills for a short shopping trip. She loved having my help in the change room saying " You are like the daughter I never had ". Then off to Jones New York where we hit an extra 40% off day & got some great buys especially as she has lost quite a few pounds in the past couple of years. By this time it is 2pm & both are hungry , so off to The Little Red Roaster for lunch. As we ate, she said she couldn"t remember when she had so much FUN. So did I. We both went home for a nap." CM
